What are consonant blends? Consonant blends (also called consonant clusters) are a collection of two or three different consonant sounds that are each heard when the word is pronounced. Examples of these are fr (frog), cl (clown), dr (drink), and pl (plate). This game is a great way for your child to identify consonant blends using words they commonly use in the classroom. It will show your child an image and ask them to pick the train car with the matching consonant blend.
They can play in two modes:
Practice Mode - This mode is great for a child just beginning to learn about consonant blends. It allows your child to practice identifying which consonant blend each word begins with. If they pick the wrong answer it will help them learn the correct one.
Play Mode - This mode challenges your child by earning points for each train they fill. Each level they complete gives them less time to fill the train. If they run out of time or make a mistake they have to start the level over.
